This will allow you to strengthen your character more quickly, allowing you to finally execute the boss fight strategy that has been causing you so much trouble. On this page, we'll go over some of the best places to farm Runes in order to level up as quickly as possible.

If you're around Level 20 and looking to farm Runes in order to level up quickly, then a location that is easily accessible will be beneficial. Although the Bestial Sanctum is intended for use much later in the game, you can earn approximately 1,000 Runes per enemy by defeating the robed creatures in this area fairly quickly. Having a central location means you can easily travel between Site of Grace to respawn enemies, and should you make a mistake, you can quickly ride Torrent across the open field to retrieve your Runes.

It is possible to reach the Bestial Sanctum relatively early in the game, though you will need to have at least faced Margit, the Fell Omen, and been taken to the Roundtable Hold before you can do so. To find out how to get to Bestial Sanctum from Limgrave, speak with D, Hunter of the Dead. He will give you directions. After that, travel to the Third Church of Marika, which is located east of Mistwood Outskirts in the Mistwood Mountains. If you haven't already, you can find the Flask of Wondrous Physik in this location.

To get there, head north from the Third Church of Marika to the river directly above it, and then follow the river east to a cluster of trees that hides a teleporter among them. Teleport to the outside of a door and enter it to reach the Bestial Sanctum Site of Grace in the bestial realm. Keep in mind that there is a powerful individual standing outside the stairwell, but he will not pay attention to you as long as you maintain your distance from him. Keep fighting him for later, especially if you're only in the area to farm Runes, because it'll be more difficult to win.

Following your arrival at Bestial Sanctum and your touching of the Site of Grace, it is time to begin farming Runes for the first time. As previously stated, stay away from the big boss at the bottom of the stairwell and head out into the open plains instead. Look for small, robed creatures who are carrying either scythes or chains, depending on their size. Despite their small stature, these adversaries are extremely powerful, so regardless of your physical build, take it easy and proceed with caution. If you require assistance, you can summon Spirits to assist you, but we recommend sneaking up behind your opponent and attempting to land a Critical Hit.

As previously stated, there are several of these robed creatures in this area, each of whom wields either a scythe or a chain. After you've killed four or five of them for a total of approximately 5,000 Runes, return to the Site of Grace at Bestial Sanctum and repeat the procedure. It's also possible to travel down to Farum Greatbridge, which is another Site of Grace, and then return up to Bestial Sanctum via a different route. You could easily earn upwards of 50,000 Runes per hour once you get into a rhythm, with the potential to earn even more depending on your build. If you make a mistake and die, you can use Torrent to ride back to your location and retrieve your Runes, which means there's very little risk of losing your progress in this section of the game.

On your way here, you may have come across the terrifying giant dogs, but in this area, you'll find three of them feasting on carcasses, completely unaware that a group of soldiers is about to launch an ambush. You can simply sit back and watch the battle between soldiers and dogs unfold, and you'll automatically recoup runes from anyone who is killed in the process.

The dogs, on the other hand, are only worth about 300 runes each, whereas the soldiers always win out in terms of sheer numbers. The trick is to get down into the fighting and slowly pick off the soldiers who are concentrating on the dogs and therefore vulnerable to backstabs and other attacks.
